With their creative ideas on digitalisation, start-ups are bringing a breath of fresh air to the energy industry. They are developing new business models for electricity trading and intelligent solutions for using renewable energies more efficiently.
In our The smarter E Europe webinar moderated by Deutsche Energie-Agentur GmbH (dena), the three start-ups STROMDAO, solbytech and TWAICE will present to you what the new energy world can look like with their innovations.
Sara Mamel, Senior Expert Digitalization, Deutsche Energie-Agentur GmbH (dena)
As Senior Expert Digitalization, Sara Mamel supportd the newly founded Future Energy Lab, the future laboratory for digital technologies in the field of energy transition in Berlin. The lab sees itself as a think tank and pilot laboratory for research and operational testing of future-oriented information and communication technologies. The focus of content ranges from the topics of smart metering, smart grids, market and system integration of renewable energies to blockchain, artificial intelligence and quantum computing.
Thorsten Zoerner, CEO, Stromdao GmbH
Since 2017, STROMDAO GmbH has been using dynamic electricity tariffs to increase the share of renewable energies in the grid, relieve the burden on electricity grids through regional consumption, enable market participants to sell regionally, and create lasting value for end consumers in the form of shares in renewable energy plants with smart electricity products. With STROMDAO products, fewer renewable energy plants are shut down due to grid congestion, there is more green power in the grid and thus more climate protection. Artificial intelligence and blockchain technology create incentives in the form of real-time credits for grid-compliant green power consumption. Electricity consumers in the private, public, commercial and agricultural sectors become sustainable green power producers, grid managers and active climate protectors with STROMDAO products. With Casa Corrently, STROMDAO provides the first cost transparency model for individual application in the energy transition - it provides a figure in euro cents per kilowatt hour for all investments and depreciation for users. STROMDAO, founded by Thorsten Zoerner, is also involved in various research projects on the topic of reliable and secure green power supply with volatile energies.
Nicolas Rau, Sales Manager, TWAICE Technologies GmbH
Choosing the best system design and operating strategy can make or break the economics of a battery energy storage project. By creating transparency about battery aging behavior, TWAICE predictive analytics software makes projects more profitable and less risky. Nicolas Rau from TWAICE will explain how battery analytics generates value for integrators and utilities, amongst others. He will also outline key features of the company’s analytics platform, including the Operating Strategy Planner and the Warranty Tracker.
DI Gerald Eder, BA, Co-Founder, solbytech GmbH
solbytech gmbh develops innovative IT solutions for energy industry issues and deals with the unstable communication and IT security of mobile-connected, decentralized power generation plants. Increase your competitiveness through an optimized O&M process and benefit from seamless mobile communication via active router management and NIS-compliant IT security.
