TWL Technologie GmbH was founded in 2002 in Weiden and moved to its current operating site in Freihung in 2007 due to strong growth. When planning the building complex, care was taken to ensure that the orientation and shape of the building would allow for high solar yields through direct sunlight on the glass south facade. A 150 m² EtaSunPro vacuum tube solar system on the roof, supplemented by a 24,000-liter solar storage tank, ensures that 80 percent of the annually required heating energy is provided. The rest is supplied by a pellet boiler. All roof surfaces of the four factory halls are covered with PV systems, which generate 350 MWh of electricity annually.
TWL manufactures thermal storage tanks up to 10,000L in the standard range and up to 30,000L in custom storage construction. Another strong pillar of TWL is solar thermal collectors. From this expertise, TWL developed the PRISMA® PVT product line.
The current PRISMA® PVT 4.0 hybrid collector is based on state-of-the-art Topcon cell technology in the form of a double-glass PV module on the front side. On the rear side, a copper harp absorber with laser-welded aluminum heat-conducting sheets is installed.
From the end of 2025, the Prisma PVT RBX collector, already presented at the trade fair stand, will follow. This high-performance PVT collector is based on a hydraulically optimized rollbond absorber from Mubea, developed with AI support. The collector will be manufactured by Mubea in Germany. Mubea is an internationally oriented automotive supplier group with 16,000 employees.
