Our mission is to lead the energy transition into the second half with passion, innovation and first-class technology. By narrowing the gap between energy demand and energy supply, minimizing land losses and producing electricity for the grid, our vertical photovoltaic solutions are an important building block on the way to 100% renewable energy.
Next2Sun was founded in 2015 with the aim of bringing a new type of PV concept with vertically mounted, bifacial solar modules to the market. The use of these vertical photovoltaic systems makes it possible to generate electricity counter-cyclically so that the electricity is fed into the grid when conventional photovoltaic systems generate less power: in the morning and afternoon hours.
Possible applications for this award-winning technology are primarily in agriculture with so-called agri-voltaics, where the vertical system allows the area to be used for two purposes: the Fields2Sun system is installed in such a way that agricultural use can continue and electricity can be generated at the same time. The land is ecologically enhanced and provides farmers with additional income opportunities.
However, the use of vertical photovoltaic systems is also designed for applications in the private sector and for companies. By using the solar fence, the Fence2Sun system, customers from the private, public and commercial sectors not only receive independent electricity production, the elements also serve as a privacy screen and demarcation of the property.
Variable row gaps of at least 8 meters allow for a variety of agricultural concepts, such as hay or silage, pasture farming, biomass and arable land. The careful use of the resource soil leads to high acceptance. Up to 90% of the solar park area can still be used for agricultural purposes.
Due to the linear structures and the low degree of overbuilding of only approx. 1%, high-quality old grass areas are created in which specific habitat structures can be established.
